Playing in a Blizzard

Now first off, I’m from Chicago. A Midwest girl through and through. So naturally, I love when it snows and all the winter activities associated with it. I also have certain expectations when something is called a “blizzard”. Sure, the DC area got a lot of snow in one session, but I wouldn’t call it a blizzard. So Goober (Wickett) and I went to bed that Friday night not knowing what to expect on Saturday morning…

We donned our winter gear and walked out into the winter wonderland!

The snow was taller than he was! And despite the hours upon hours of snowfall already, not a single snowplow had come through my neighborhood. Nor would one for days.

Without another soul in sight (and armed with some treats in my pocket) I let Wickett off the leash as we headed over towards the park for some fun.

I left the pup behind in the warmth of my apartment to get some brunch with a gal pal.

Having enjoyed our fill of mimosas and an Irish brunch, we ran outside to throw some snowballs at some silly kids having a snowball fight. Naturally, we forgot our jackets inside and ended up freezing! (I changed into my pink hat if you’re trying to spot me!)

After such a chilly snowy day, I headed home to make some hot cocoa and relax with the pup. There’s really not quite like curling up with your best bud in front of a fire!
